Norway’s only saltwater stream

Did you know that Oslofjord Convention Center is home to Norway’s only saltwater stream?

With the sea right beside, it was resourceful for Oslofjord to choose a heating pump with seawater as its energy source. The seawater is transported from the fjord up to the power center to cool down the building in the summer. The waterfall is the return water from this process and is also incorporated into the landscape design. The crystal-clear seawater streams quietly and beautifully past the main entrance at the center plaza and ends in a bubbling waterfall down the hillside towards the Garden Village.
