The impact of Oslofjord Convention Center extends far beyond the venue itself.

An independent study conducted by Menon Economics shows that Oslofjord is a significant contributor to economic activity, employment and tourism in Norway. The analysis examines the economic effects generated by Oslofjord’s operations in 2025, including both direct activity at the venue and indirect effects throughout its supplier network and value chain.

The report highlights Oslofjord’s role as one of Norway’s largest integrated meeting and event destinations. With accommodation, conference facilities, arenas, dining and activities located within a single destination, Oslofjord attracts both national and international visitors and generates substantial economic value for businesses, suppliers and local communities.

Key findings

  • NOK 490 million in total value creation supported by Oslofjord’s activities in 2025
  • Approximately 650 jobs supported across Oslofjord and its supply chain
  • NOK 120 million generated in public revenues through taxes and employer contributions
  • NOK 290 million spent on goods and services
  • Around 880 Norwegian suppliers engaged across the value chain
  • More than 420 employees associated with Oslofjord’s operations
  • 110,000 visitors and approximately 425,000 guest nights in 2025
  • Around 50% of visitors were international guests
  • NOK 330 million in annual value creation generated in the Vestfold region alone

A catalyst for regional and national growth

The report shows that Oslofjord’s impact is felt far beyond the destination itself.

Its supplier network spans hundreds of companies across Norway, while the majority of purchases are made from businesses in Eastern Norway. More than NOK 80 million was spent with suppliers in Vestfold alone, creating demand for services ranging from food production and logistics to construction, technology and professional services.

At the same time, Oslofjord plays an important role in attracting international visitors to Norway. Nearly half of all guests come from abroad, generating additional spending on accommodation, transportation and tourism experiences before and after events.

Building more than economic value

The report also points to Oslofjord’s broader contribution to business development and competence building.

Delivering large-scale conferences, congresses, sporting events and international gatherings requires close collaboration between organizers, suppliers and service providers. This creates opportunities for learning, innovation and capability development throughout the value chain.

With new ownership, new leadership and an increasing focus on conferences, congresses, corporate events and international meetings, Oslofjord is positioned for continued growth and an even greater contribution to Norway’s visitor economy in the years ahead.
