A new economic impact analysis by Menon Economics shows that Oslofjord Convention Center contributed approximately NOK 490 million in value creation and supported around 650 jobs in 2025. The activity also generated an estimated NOK 120 million in public tax revenues.
– This demonstrates that we are more than just a venue for events. Our activity creates value and employment far beyond our own operations, says CEO Camilla Hållbro.
A driver of economic activity across industries
The analysis highlights how activity at Oslofjord extends through a broad value chain in the Norwegian economy, driven by the center’s demand for goods and services.
In 2025, Oslofjord purchased goods and services worth approximately NOK 290 million from nearly 880 Norwegian suppliers. This alone supports around 225 jobs in supplier industries.
These deliveries span multiple sectors, including transport, construction, technical services, and food supply.
An international meeting place with national impact
In 2025, Oslofjord welcomed around 110,000 visitors, generating approximately 425,000 guest nights. About half of these were international visitors.
The high share of international guests contributes to increased economic activity beyond the venue itself, including transport, accommodation, and spending before and after events.
– When we attract international events, it creates activity across the region and beyond, says Hållbro.
High productivity through an integrated model
The report also shows that Oslofjord differs from traditional players in the hospitality sector. Value creation per employee is estimated at around NOK 1.5 million, on par with the Norwegian mainland economy and significantly higher than the average for the hospitality industry.
This is partly explained by the integrated model, where accommodation, dining, and event facilities are all located on a single site.
– When everything happens in one place, it creates better flow, less complexity, and more efficient execution. That generates value both for organizers and for the surrounding economy, says Hållbro.
Strong local impact
Of the total value creation, approximately NOK 330 million takes place in the Vestfold region. More than NOK 80 million is spent with local suppliers alone, and the company employs over 420 people directly.
This means that Oslofjord’s activity supports jobs and business across a wide range of local industries, from construction and technical services to logistics and food supply.
About the analysis
