Oslofjord Convention Center has introduced a new premium accommodation offering with fully refurbished rooms and suites. It has been created for organisers who want to keep their entire event in one place while providing keynote speakers, executives or other selected guests with a higher level of comfort.
Five interior design studios were invited to take part in a design competition. Anemone Studio was selected, with interior designer Anemone Wille Våge and interior architect Sophie Falck Sogn given the task of shaping the new rooms and suites.
Anemone Studio is behind several high-profile hotel and restaurant projects across Norway and the Nordic region, including Hotel Continental, Theatercaféen, The Thief, Riviera Hotel, The Hub and Skt. Petri in Copenhagen.
Designed for organisers
– A premium offering like this is something we have wanted to introduce for some time, says Camilla Hållbro, CEO of Oslofjord Convention Center.
Most of Oslofjord’s accommodation consists of apartments in apartment-style hotel buildings. The new premium rooms and suites complement the existing range rather than replace it.

The rooms are located on the hotel’s two uppermost floors. Existing rooms have been completely refurbished and given a new interior, with views across the fjord and the surrounding landscape.
– Requirements vary from one event to another. Some organisers want a premium option for keynote speakers, executives or international guests. This allows them to offer different levels of accommodation without splitting participants across several hotels.
Several of the suppliers involved in the project are based in Vestfold, meaning that the investment has also generated work for businesses in the region.
Comfort over trends
When Våge and Sogn began working on the project, their main priority was clear.
– Comfort has been the guiding principle throughout the project, says Våge.
The aim was not to create rooms that demand attention, but spaces where guests immediately feel at ease.

A first encounter with Oslofjord
The project was Sophie Falck Sogn’s first introduction to Oslofjord.
– What a place. The location, the natural surroundings and Niels Torp’s architecture create a remarkable setting. It has been exciting to help shape this product and to work so carefully with light, materials and details, she says.
Although the design is not distinctly Scandinavian, the surrounding landscape is reflected in both the colour palette and the choice of materials.

Details that make a difference
The refurbishment is not about major architectural changes, but about the details.
New textiles, upgraded lighting, carefully considered use of mirrors and selected materials contribute to a warmer and more coherent interior.
Expanding the accommodation offering
For Hållbro, the investment is a natural extension of Oslofjord’s overall offering.
– The premium accommodation allows us to meet a wider range of organiser needs while building on what we already offer, she says.

The premium accommodation comprises three room categories:
- Deluxe – 27 m²
- Junior Suite – 37 m²
- Suite – 56 m²
All three categories have been upgraded with new furniture, textiles, lighting and carefully selected materials.
