Here you will find answers to common questions from organisers, participants and visitors to Oslofjord Convention Center in Vestfold, Norway.
Ownership and Organisation
Who owns Oslofjord Convention Center?
Since 2024, Oslofjord has been owned by the life-stance-neutral Oslofjord Foundation. The foundation was established to ensure the long-term development and professional operation of Oslofjord as a venue for conferences, congresses, culture, sports and large-scale events.
All profits are reinvested into the continued development of the area and the business.
What does the ownership change mean for customers and guests?
Today, Oslofjord operates as an open and professional conference and event destination with guests, organisers and partners from Norway and around the world.
The organisation is led by a management team and board with experience from industries including travel, events, technology and business.
Location and Experience
Where is Oslofjord located?
Oslofjord Convention Center is located by the fjord in Melsomvik, between Sandefjord and Tønsberg, surrounded by the sea, forest and large outdoor areas in Vestfold.
The area is used year-round for events, training, recreation and experiences by the fjord.
What makes Oslofjord different?
At Oslofjord, hotels, arenas, meeting spaces, restaurants and activities are all gathered in one integrated area by the fjord in Vestfold. This makes it possible to host large-scale events without transporting participants between different hotels and venues.
It means less logistics and more time together for both organisers and participants.
Large parts of the area are car-free, with short walking distances between hotels, meeting spaces and activities.
What is it like to stay at Oslofjord?
Oslofjord is designed as a connected destination where hotels, meeting spaces, arenas and outdoor areas are located close together. Many describe the experience as calmer and easier to navigate than traditional event venues, while the proximity to the fjord and surrounding nature is a clear part of the stay.
How is nature integrated into the experience?
Oslofjord was designed by architect Niels Torp with the fjord landscape as its starting point. The buildings follow the natural terrain down towards the water, while large glass surfaces and open outdoor areas create a close connection between indoor and outdoor spaces.
The fjord, forest and outdoor surroundings are an active part of the experience, not just a backdrop to the events.
